Construction of three major drainage outfall pipes will begin in the second quarter of 2011.  This will be followed by the relocation of LUS sewer and water lines, and then actual road improvements beginning at Ambassador Caffery Parkway and ending west of E. Broussard at Cue Road.

Road Schedule

The realignment of LA Highway 92 will begin at the intersection of LA Hwy 92 and LA Hwy 89 in Youngsville and will head in an easterly direction for approximately 3,300 feet.  At that point it will intersect with the existing LA Hwy 92.  There will be a concrete roundabout constructed at the intersection of LA Hwy 92 and LA Hwy 89.  Additional improvements will include sidewalks and pedestrian lighting at the roundabout.  Construction is scheduled to begin in December of 2010.

The new roadway construction of Chemin Metairie Parkway Phase II will begin at the intersection of Highway 89 and Chemin Metairie Parkway, extending 2.8 miles east, terminating with a roundabout at the Vaulet Road and Aillet Road intersection.  The project will also improve the intersection of Aillet Road and US Hwy 90 by adding a traffic signal and additional turn lanes.  Construction is scheduled to begin the first quarter of 2010.

Chemin Metairie Parkway Phase II

Construction to improve Hwy 733 from LA92 at Milton to US167 (Johnston Street) will begin during the first week of August, weather permitting.  The 733 project is mostly an overlay project.  Additional turn lanes will be added at Johnston and Hwy 733, Kaliste Saloom at the Eloi Subdivision entrance, and Stonehaven Subdivision.  This project is expected to be completed by spring of 2011. 

Construction to widen US90 from Pinhook Road to the LA182 overpass in Broussard is currently underway and expected to be complete by spring of 2012. 

The Verot School Road project will add lanes from Pinhook to Vincent Road.  Phase I of the project includes utility and drainage work.  Phase II is construction.  Utility work is scheduled to begin fall of 2010 and the drainage work is scheduled to begin spring of 2011.
